Mid-Continent Instruments names Chief Financial Officer

 

WICHITA, Kan. — Mid-Continent Instruments announces the promotion of Cynthia Highbarger to Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.  “Cindy has done an outstanding job helping us transform Mid-Continent into a world-class organization,” said Todd Winter, president of Mid-Continent Instruments.  “Her professional skills, energetic demeanor, and dedication make for the perfect CFO.”

Highbarger’s responsibilities as controller since 1996 have included accounting, human resources, information technology, and administration.  In addition to her previous duties, Highbarger will be in charge of manufacturing, repair station, purchasing, stock room, and shipping/receiving.

“My goal as CFO is to provide a cohesive process for business operations that creates improved functions and customer service, internally and externally,” said Highbarger.  “I expect to see consistency throughout the organization.  I expect to be able to add value to our company by helping determine the best practices in each area and helping implement these best practices throughout the company.”

Cynthia Highbarger earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Wichita State University.  Prior to her employment at Mid-Continent Instruments, she worked as a CPA most recently with Allen, Gibbs, and Houlik.

 

Mid-Continent Instruments manufactures aircraft instruments for the general aviation industry.  Services at the Wichita, Kansas facility also include developing and manufacturing new avionics products.  Mid-Continent Instruments West in Van Nuys, California provides new instrument sales and is the top-rated instrument overhaul shop on the west coast.  Together the locations employ more than 150 people and offer the largest general aviation instrument overhaul/exchange program in the world.  Specialties include gyro, altimeter, HSI and autopilot system overhauls.  Mid-Continent instruments are found in all new Cessna airplanes and in Raytheon’s Beech line of Bonanzas, Barons, King Airs and 1900 Airliners.  Instruments are sold to other manufacturers such as GARMIN International, Honeywell, Cirrus, Lancair, Piper Aircraft Inc., Diamond and Robinson Helicopter Co.
