Mid-Continent Instruments Adds Human Resources ManagerWICHITA, Kan. — Mid-Continent Instruments named Cecilia Salmeron as the company’s new human resources manager. Salmeron will oversee all aspects of the company’s HR functions including benefit management, recruiting, employee relations, training and development. Salmeron has nine years of experience in a human resources capacity. She most recently worked for a local oncology clinic in their HR department. “I believe my 9 years of experience in that position and my previous experience in the aviation industry will help me in this new endeavor,” said Salmeron. “Mid-Continent Instruments will benefit from Cecilia's human resource expertise,” commented Cindy Highbarger, CFO for Mid-Continent Instruments. “Cecilia will be able to provide a cohesive and comprehensive HR program to our employees. This will also provide additional resources and support to managers for all personnel issues.” Salmeron holds a Bachelor’s degree in human resources from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas and is a member of the national Society of Human Resource Management. She furthers her studies by attending professional seminars, which allow her to stay on top of changing trends in the HR world. “I am excited about this position because it will give me the opportunity to focus on employee training and development,” said Salmeron. Mid-Continent Instruments manufactures aircraft instruments for the general aviation industry. Services at the Wichita, Kansas facility also include developing and manufacturing new avionics products. Mid-Continent Instruments West in Van Nuys, California provides new instrument sales and is the top-rated instrument overhaul shop on the west coast. Together the locations employ more than 150 people and offer the largest general aviation instrument overhaul/exchange program in the world. Specialties include gyro, altimeter, HSI and autopilot system overhauls. Mid-Continent instruments are found in all new Cessna airplanes and in Raytheon’s Beech line of Bonanzas, Barons, King Airs and 1900 Airliners. Instruments are sold to other manufacturers such as GARMIN International, Honeywell, Cirrus, Lancair, Piper Aircraft Inc., Diamond and Robinson Helicopter Co.
