Mid-Continent Adds Engineering ManagerMid-Continent Instruments announces the addition of Brett Williams as Engineering Manager. “Brett brings valuable experience that blends well with his degrees. His entrepreneurial skills and management style will help Mid-Continent continually bring innovative products to the avionics marketplace,” said Todd Winter, president. Williams will focus on the research and development of new products while directly supervising all Engineering functions. Williams will also coordinate all project scheduling, support overhaul repair business, and join the OEM marketing team in their continuous effort to inform current and potential customers on the quality products and services offered by Mid-Continent. Most recently, he was working in process and design engineering for five years at GARMIN International located in Olathe, KS. For three years prior, Williams worked in process engineering for General Motors in Warren, MI. He also worked as a business manager for a construction company, where he strengthened his project management skills. Before completing his Master’s degree in Engineering Management at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
Mid-Continent Instruments manufactures aircraft instruments for the general aviation industry. Services at the Wichita, Kansas facility also include developing and manufacturing new avionics products. Mid-Continent Instruments West in Van Nuys, California provides new instrument sales and is the top-rated instrument overhaul shop on the west coast. Together the locations employ more than 150 people and offer the largest general aviation instrument overhaul/exchange program in the world. Specialties include gyro, altimeter, HSI and autopilot system overhauls. Mid-Continent instruments are found in all new Cessna airplanes and in Raytheon’s Beech line of Bonanzas, Barons, King Airs and 1900 Airliners. Instruments are sold to other manufacturers such as GARMIN International, Honeywell, Cirrus, Lancair, Piper Aircraft Inc., Diamond and Robinson Helicopter Co.
